Server connection modes
The 'Connection mode selector' can be used to set the way that your computer connects to our server.
There are 4 modes: 'Auto Detect', 'Direct', 'cURL' and 'IE Windows setting':
Auto Detect:
In this mode, ReportComplete will try Direct, cURL and IE Windows setting in turn until it can connect to our server. The next time you use ReportComplete the last successful method will be tried first. On MacOS the IE Windows setting will be skipped. ReportComplete sets an icon on the main window to let the user know which method is currently being used.
Direct:
cURL:
cURL is a command line tool and library for transferring data with URLs. See https://curl.haxx.se/ for more information.
IE Windows setting:
ReportComplete also lets you know which server you are connected to or if you are in offline mode:
Server 1 uses the 'ReportComplete.com' domain and Server 2 uses the 'DeluxePixel.com' domain. The program usually tries Server 1 but if there is no connection it will try to use Server 2 instead.
